Ralston Construction is a family-operated construction company serving all of Baldwin County and coastal Alabama, including Gulf Shores, Orange Beach, and the surrounding communities. Founded by the Ralstons, Robert and Tonya, the company was built on a simple idea: people deserve a contractor they can trust: one who shows up, communicates clearly, and builds things that last.
We handle everything from full custom home builds to specialty work: custom showers and bathtubs, interior and exterior stairs, handrails and patios, windows and doors, and house plan review. On the home builds, we work in both ICF (Insulated Concrete Forms), one of the most durable and energy-efficient methods for the Gulf Coast climate, and traditional framing when it's the better fit.

Building a home on the Alabama Gulf Coast isn't the same as building anywhere else. Salt air, high humidity, and the ever-present threat of hurricane-force winds demand a construction method that was designed for it.
That's why Ralston Construction builds with ICF (Insulated Concrete Forms). ICF homes use reinforced concrete walls encased in continuous foam insulation. The result is a structure that:
Withstands winds in excess of 200 mph, which is well above Gold Fortified certification requirements
Reduces energy bills significantly compared to wood-frame construction. The foam insulation creates a tight thermal envelope.
Naturally resistant to mold, rot, and salt-air corrosion, critical for properties near the Gulf.
Provides enhanced sound insulation, noticeably quieter than standard construction.
For most Gulf Coast builds, ICF is what we recommend, but it's not the only way we build. If traditional framing is the right fit for your project, budget, or design, we do that too, and we'll help you weigh the options so you can make the call with confidence.

Do you work with my own house plans?
Yes. If you already have plans drawn up, send them over and we'll review them and put together a quote. If you don't have plans yet, we can point you in the right direction.
